How to do an incline bench press with dumbbells

Watch this video first:

1. Starting position: Make sure that you go through the full range of motion by taking your hands to the side of your chest and stretching your chest, imagine that you are using a barbell, when you are just at the point that it would touch your chest stop the movement and push it back up again, keep your forearm and biceps in a 90 degrees angle.

2. Ending position: Don’t lock your elbow joints when you get to the top, and also prevent the most common mistake of getting the dumbbells too close together. Keep the same space between your hands as in the starting position.

3. During the exercise: Set the bench to a 15-45 degrees angle and position your hands and arms at the side of you chest, position them a bit higher than the middle of the chest, the nipple rule actually directs us to set the line of movement to the upper part of your chest.

Safety tips: Keep your wrists straight and be careful not to bend them, take a chair or a step and lay your feet on it to help you prevent any arching in the lower back.
